Heavy Equipment Technician Position Summary: Highly Motivated, performing repairs andmaintenance on all makes, and models of heavy equipment, and class 3-8 trucksas needed.
1. Perform repairs and maintenance on all makes andmodels of heavy equipment and company vehicles. Types of equipment including,but not limited too, Pavers, Millers, Loaders, Dozers, Backhoes, Skid Steers,Fleet Trucks, etc.

2. Trouble Shooting Electrical and Mechanicalissues

3. Maintain detailed Work Logs, and Daily Paperwork

4. Keep Clean, and maintain a clean work area

5. Able to efficiently meet high demands anddeadlines, in a fast pace moving environment.

6. Minimum 5 years’ experience around HeavyEquipment and Trucks (Paving and Milling Equipment is a Plus

7. Knowledge around shop and diagnostic equipmentand computer diagnostic software

8. Air Conditioning operations

9. Electrical wiring knowledge and how circuitswork. (Canbus and multiplexing a plus)

10. Knowledge of welding practices preferred

11. Valid New Jersey Driver’s License required (CDLis a plus)

12. Possess and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Heavy Equipment Technician Qualifications

· High school diploma or general education degree(GED) required and minimum 3 years of related asphalt and paving experience oran equivalent combination of education and training.

· Ability to read and comprehend simpleinstructions, short correspondence, and memos.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide inall units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals tocompute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs.

· Ability to operate equipment safely andefficiently.

· Ability to keep time and material records.

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructionand communicate effectively.

· Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills and attributes.
